Switching Pharmacies, Frequently Asked
Do I have to call my old pharmacy myself?
No — and that's most people's favourite part. Fill out the form above (or just call us) and our pharmacist contacts your current pharmacy directly. No awkward conversations, no waiting on hold — you're done in about two minutes.
Does transferring cost anything?
Nothing at all. There's no fee from us and nothing to pay your current pharmacy — switching costs you only the couple of minutes it takes to ask.
How fast will my prescriptions move over?
Most transfers complete the same business day. If you need a medication urgently, call us at 647-347-9333 and we'll prioritize it right away.
Do I need to tell my doctor I'm switching?
No. Transfers happen pharmacy-to-pharmacy, so your doctor doesn't need to be involved at all. If a prescription needs renewing along the way, we'll contact your doctor's office for you.
Will my remaining refills carry over?
Yes — refills belong to your prescription, and they move with it. If something has run out of refills, we'll reach out to your doctor to request a new one so nothing is missed.
Can every medication be transferred?
Almost all. Ontario regulations don't allow narcotic and controlled medications to transfer between pharmacies — those need a new prescription from your doctor, and we'll help you arrange it so there's no gap in your care.
Can I switch my whole family at once?
Absolutely — many families do. Choose "Transfer my entire file" on the form for each person, or call us and we'll set up the whole household in one go.
Will my insurance and drug plans still work?
Yes. We bill most major insurance plans and the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) directly, exactly like your current pharmacy. Bring your card on your first visit and everything will be set up before you leave.
