SMS TERMS & CONDITIONS
John & Jack Pharmacy (Text Messaging Program)
These terms cover refill and service text messages from John & Jack Pharmacy.
These SMS Terms & Conditions (“SMS Terms”) apply to the John & Jack Pharmacy text messaging program (the “Program”). By opting in to receive SMS/text messages from us, you agree to these SMS Terms.
1) PROGRAM NAME
John & Jack Pharmacy Alerts (Refill & Service Updates)
2) PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Program sends transactional, informational, and service-related text messages related to your interactions with our pharmacy, such as:
- refill request confirmations,
- refill status updates (for example: in preparation, ready for pickup/delivery),
- limited follow-up messages related to a refill request or appointment request,
- operational notices you may need (for example: unexpected closures, service interruptions, or appointment changes), when relevant.
Messages are not intended for medical emergencies.
3) NOT FOR EMERGENCIES
Do not use SMS/text messages to contact us for emergencies.
If you have an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
4) CONSENT TO RECEIVE SMS (OPT‑IN)
You opt in by providing your mobile number through our refill intake process or another approved opt‑in channel and selecting/confirming consent to receive SMS updates.
By opting in, you confirm that:
- you are the account holder or have permission to use the mobile number provided,
- you consent to receive recurring automated and non‑automated service texts from John & Jack Pharmacy, and
- your consent is not a condition of purchasing any good or service.
We may keep records of your opt‑in (including date/time, method, and number) for compliance and audit purposes.
5) MESSAGE FREQUENCY
Message frequency varies based on your activity and requests.
Typical volume is approximately 1 to 4 messages per refill request, but frequency may vary.
6) MESSAGE AND DATA RATES
Message and data rates may apply depending on your wireless plan and carrier. We do not charge a fee to receive our SMS messages, but your carrier may charge you.
7) SUPPORTED CARRIERS / DELIVERY
Delivery depends on your mobile device, service plan, carrier, and network availability. Messages may be delayed or not delivered due to factors outside our control.
8) OPT‑OUT INSTRUCTIONS
You can opt out at any time by replying:
- STOP (or ARRET)
After you send STOP/ARRET, you may receive a final confirmation text that you have been unsubscribed.
Once opted out, you will no longer receive SMS messages from the Program unless you opt in again.

10) PRIVACY AND SERVICE PROVIDERS
Your use of the Program is also governed by our Privacy Policy:

Mobile privacy statement:
- Mobile numbers and SMS opt‑in data are used only for Program purposes (primarily refill/service communications).
- Mobile opt‑in data and consent are not sold.
- Mobile opt‑in data is not shared with third parties for their own marketing/promotional use.
- We use service providers (such as Twilio) to deliver messages and manage delivery logs as part of providing the Program.
11) SMS SECURITY / SENSITIVE INFORMATION
SMS is not a fully secure method of communication. By opting in, you acknowledge that SMS messages may be read by someone with access to your phone.
To reduce risk, we aim not to include detailed medication names or highly sensitive health information in routine SMS updates. However, messages may still reveal that you are interacting with a pharmacy, which may be sensitive.
If you prefer not to receive SMS, do not opt in (or opt out at any time) and contact us by phone instead.
12) YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You agree to:
- provide an accurate mobile number,
- keep your contact information up to date,
- notify us if your number changes,
- secure your device (for example: passcode/biometrics),
- not submit another person’s number without authorization.
13) OPTIONAL PROMOTIONAL MESSAGES (IF EVER USED)
If we ever send SMS messages that are promotional/marketing in nature, we will do so only where permitted by law and with appropriate consent, and we will provide a compliant unsubscribe method. Unsubscribe requests will be actioned within legally required timelines.
14) CHANGES OR TERMINATION
We may modify, suspend, or terminate the Program or these SMS Terms at any time. Changes are effective when posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
15) LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for delays, delivery failures, or losses arising from carrier/network issues, service interruptions, or events beyond our reasonable control.
16) GOVERNING LAW
These SMS Terms are governed by the applicable laws of Ontario and Canada.
